#성경정독 #사사기16장 #개역개정 #RVR1960 #ESV 사사기 16장 공식 사이트 : http://www.prsi.org 본 영상은 CGNTV와 공동체성경읽기(PRS)가 공동기획하여 제작한 영상으로 무단으로 영상을 편집 및 재배포가 금지됩니다. 영상 제공 : CGNTV 제공 #공동체성경읽기#성경 #드라마바이블 #Bible #크리스천 #기독교 #설교 #말씀#성경낭독 제 16 장 삼손이 가사에 가다 1 삼손이 가사에 가서 거기서 한 기생을 보고 그에게로 들어갔더니 2 가사 사람들에게 삼손이 왔다고 알려지매 그들이 곧 그를 에워싸고 밤새도록 성문에 매복하고 밤새도록 조용히 하며 이르기를 새벽이 되거든 그를 죽이리라 하였더라 3 삼손이 밤중까지 누워 있다가 그 밤중에 일어나 성 문짝들과 두 문설주와 문빗장을 빼어 가지고 그것을 모두 어깨에 메고 헤브론 앞산 꼭대기로 가니라 삼손과 들릴라 4 이 후에 삼손이 소렉 골짜기의 들릴라라 이름하는 여인을 사랑하매 5 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 그 여인에게로 올라가서 그에게 이르되 삼손을 꾀어서 무엇으로 말미암아 그 큰 힘이 생기는지 그리고 우리가 어떻게 하면 능히 그를 결박하여 굴복하게 할 수 있을는지 알아보라 그리하면 우리가 각각 은 천백 개씩을 네게 주리라 하니 6 들릴라가 삼손에게 말하되 청하건대 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로 말미암아 생기며 어떻게 하면 능히 당신을 결박하여 굴복하게 할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라 하니 7 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 마르지 아니한 새 활줄 일곱으로 나를 결박하면 내가 약해져서 다른 사람과 같으리라 8 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 마르지 아니한 새 활줄 일곱을 여인에게로 가져오매 그가 그것으로 삼손을 결박하고 9 이미 사람을 방 안에 매복시켰으므로 삼손에게 말하되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람들이 당신에게 들이닥쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 그 줄들을 끊기를 불탄 삼실을 끊음 같이 하였고 그의 힘의 근원은 알아내지 못하니라 10 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 보라 당신이 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을 하였도다 청하건대 무엇으로 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 이제는 내게 말하라 하니 11 삼손이 그에게 이르되 만일 쓰지 아니한 새 밧줄들로 나를 결박하면 내가 약해져서 다른 사람과 같으리라 하니라 12 들릴라가 새 밧줄들을 가져다가 그것들로 그를 결박하고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 들이닥쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 팔 위의 줄 끊기를 실을 끊음 같이 하였고 그 때에도 사람이 방 안에 매복하였더라 13 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신이 이 때까지 나를 희롱하여 내게 거짓말을 하였도다 내가 무엇으로 당신을 결박할 수 있을는지 내게 말하라 하니 삼손이 그에게 이르되 그대가 만일 나의 머리털 일곱 가닥을 베틀의 날실에 섞어 짜면 되리라 하는지라 14 들릴라가 바디로 그 머리털을 단단히 짜고 그에게 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람들이 당신에게 들이닥쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 잠을 깨어 베틀의 바디와 날실을 다 빼내니라 15 들릴라가 삼손에게 이르되 당신의 마음이 내게 있지 아니하면서 당신이 어찌 나를 사랑한다 하느냐 당신이 이로써 세 번이나 나를 희롱하고 당신의 큰 힘이 무엇으로 말미암아 생기는지를 내게 말하지 아니하였도다 하며 16 날마다 그 말로 그를 재촉하여 조르매 삼손의 마음이 번뇌하여 죽을 지경이라 17 삼손이 진심을 드러내어 그에게 이르되 내 머리 위에는 삭도를 대지 아니하였나니 이는 내가 모태에서부터 하나님의 나실인이 되었음이라 만일 내 머리가 밀리면 내 힘이 내게서 떠나고 나는 약해져서 다른 사람과 같으리라 하니라 18 들릴라가 삼손이 진심을 다 알려 주므로 사람을 보내어 블레셋 사람들의 방백들을 불러 이르되 삼손이 내게 진심을 알려 주었으니 이제 한 번만 올라오라 하니 블레셋 방백들이 손에 은을 가지고 그 여인에게로 올라오니라 19 들릴라가 삼손에게 자기 무릎을 베고 자게 하고 사람을 불러 그의 머리털 일곱 가닥을 밀고 괴롭게 하여 본즉 그의 힘이 없어졌더라 20 들릴라가 이르되 삼손이여 블레셋 사람이 당신에게 들이닥쳤느니라 하니 삼손이 잠을 깨며 이르기를 내가 전과 같이 나가서 몸을 떨치리라 하였으나 여호와께서 이미 자기를 떠나신 줄을 깨닫지 못하였더라 21 블레셋 사람들이 그를 붙잡아 그의 눈을 빼고 끌고 가사에 내려가 놋 줄로 매고 그에게 옥에서 맷돌을 돌리게 하였더라 22 그의 머리털이 밀린 후에 다시 자라기 시작하니라 삼손이 죽다 23 블레셋 사람의 방백들이 이르되 우리의 신이 우리 원수 삼손을 우리 손에 넘겨 주었다 하고 다 모여 그들의 신 다곤에게 큰 제사를 드리고 즐거워하고 24 백성들도 삼손을 보았으므로 이르되 우리의 땅을 망쳐 놓고 우리의 많은 사람을 죽인 원수를 우리의 신이 우리 손에 넘겨 주었다 하고 자기들의 신을 찬양하며 25 그들의 마음이 즐거울 때에 이르되 삼손을 불러다가 우리를 위하여 재주를 부리게 하자 하고 옥에서 삼손을 불러내매 삼손이 그들을 위하여 재주를 부리니라 그들이 삼손을 두 기둥 사이에 세웠더니 26 삼손이 자기 손을 붙든 소년에게 이르되 나에게 이 집을 버틴 기둥을 찾아 그것을 의지하게 하라 하니라 27 그 집에는 남녀가 가득하니 블레셋 모든 방백들도 거기에 있고 지붕에 있는 남녀도 삼천 명 가량이라 다 삼손이 재주 부리는 것을 보더라 28 삼손이 여호와께 부르짖어 이르되 주 여호와여 구하옵나니 나를 생각하옵소서 하나님이여 구하옵나니 이번만 나를 강하게 하사 나의 두 눈을 뺀 블레셋 사람에게 원수를 단번에 갚게 하옵소서 하고 29 삼손이 집을 버틴 두 기둥 가운데 하나는 왼손으로 하나는 오른손으로 껴 의지하고 30 삼손이 이르되 블레셋 사람과 함께 죽기를 원하노라 하고 힘을 다하여 몸을 굽히매 그 집이 곧 무너져 그 안에 있는 모든 방백들과 온 백성에게 덮이니 삼손이 죽을 때에 죽인 자가 살았을 때에 죽인 자보다 더욱 많았더라 31 그의 형제와 아버지의 온 집이 다 내려가서 그의 시체를 가지고 올라가서 소라와 에스다올 사이 그의 아버지 마노아의 장지에 장사하니라 삼손이 이스라엘의 사사로 이십 년 동안 지냈더라 #Jueces 16 Sansón en Gaza 1. Fue Sansón a Gaza, y vio allí a una mujer ramera, y se llegó a ella. 2. Y fue dicho a los de Gaza: Sansón ha venido acá. Y lo rodearon, y acecharon toda aquella noche a la puerta de la ciudad; y estuvieron callados toda aquella noche, diciendo: Hasta la luz de la mañana; entonces lo mataremos. 3. Mas Sansón durmió hasta la medianoche; y a la medianoche se levantó, y tomando las puertas de la ciudad con sus dos pilares y su cerrojo, se las echó al hombro, y se fue y las subió a la cumbre del monte que está delante de Hebrón. Sansón y Dalila 4. Después de esto aconteció que se enamoró de una mujer en el valle de Sorec, la cual se llamaba Dalila. 5. Y vinieron a ella los príncipes de los filisteos, y le dijeron: Engáñale e infórmate en qué consiste su gran fuerza, y cómo lo podríamos vencer, para que lo atemos y lo dominemos; y cada uno de nosotros te dará mil cien siclos de plata. 6. Y Dalila dijo a Sansón: Yo te ruego que me declares en qué consiste tu gran fuerza, y cómo podrás ser atado para ser dominado. 7. Y le respondió Sansón: Si me ataren con siete mimbres verdes que aún no estén enjutos, entonces me debilitaré y seré como cualquiera de los hombres. 8. Y los príncipes de los filisteos le trajeron siete mimbres verdes que aún no estaban enjutos, y ella le ató con ellos. 9. Y ella tenía hombres en acecho en el aposento. Entonces ella le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos contra ti! Y él rompió los mimbres, como se rompe una cuerda de estopa cuando toca el fuego; y no se supo el secreto de su fuerza. 10. Entonces Dalila dijo a Sansón: He aquí tú me has engañado, y me has dicho mentiras; descúbreme, pues, ahora, te ruego, cómo podrás ser atado. 11. Y él le dijo: Si me ataren fuertemente con cuerdas nuevas que no se hayan usado, yo me debilitaré, y seré como cualquiera de los hombres. 12. Y Dalila tomó cuerdas nuevas, y le ató con ellas, y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Y los espías estaban en el aposento. Mas él las rompió de sus brazos como un hilo. 13. Y Dalila dijo a Sansón: Hasta ahora me engañas, y tratas conmigo con mentiras. Descúbreme, pues, ahora, cómo podrás ser atado. Él entonces le dijo: Si tejieres siete guedejas de mi cabeza con la tela y las asegurares con la estaca. 14. Y ella las aseguró con la estaca, y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Mas despertando él de su sueño, arrancó la estaca del telar con la tela. 15. Y ella le dijo: ¿Cómo dices: Yo te amo, cuando tu corazón no está conmigo? Ya me has engañado tres veces, y no me has descubierto aún en qué consiste tu gran fuerza. 16. Y aconteció que, presionándole ella cada día con sus palabras e importunándole, su alma fue reducida a mortal angustia. 17. Le descubrió, pues, todo su corazón, y le dijo: Nunca a mi cabeza llegó navaja; porque soy nazareo de Dios desde el vientre de mi madre. Si fuere rapado, mi fuerza se apartará de mí, y me debilitaré y seré como todos los hombres. 18. Viendo Dalila que él le había descubierto todo su corazón, envió a llamar a los principales de los filisteos, diciendo: Venid esta vez, porque él me ha descubierto todo su corazón. Y los principales de los filisteos vinieron a ella, trayendo en su mano el dinero. 19. Y ella hizo que él se durmiese sobre sus rodillas, y llamó a un hombre, quien le rapó las siete guedejas de su cabeza; y ella comenzó a afligirlo, pues su fuerza se apartó de él. 20. Y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Y luego que despertó él de su sueño, se dijo: Esta vez saldré como las otras y me escaparé. Pero él no sabía que Jehová ya se había apartado de él. 21. Mas los filisteos le echaron mano, y le sacaron los ojos, y le llevaron a Gaza; y le ataron con cadenas para que moliese en la cárcel. 22. Y el cabello de su cabeza comenzó a crecer, después que fue rapado. Muerte de Sansón 23. Entonces los principales de los filisteos se juntaron para ofrecer sacrificio a Dagón su dios y para alegrarse; y dijeron: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos a Sansón nuestro enemigo. 24. Y viéndolo el pueblo, alabaron a su dios, diciendo: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos a nuestro enemigo, y al destruidor de nuestra tierra, el cual había dado muerte a muchos de nosotros. 25. Y aconteció que cuando sintieron alegría en su corazón, dijeron: Llamad a Sansón, para que nos divierta. Y llamaron a Sansón de la cárcel, y sirvió de juguete delante de ellos; y lo pusieron entre las columnas. 26. Entonces Sansón dijo al joven que le guiaba de la mano: Acércame, y hazme palpar las columnas sobre las que descansa la casa, para que me apoye sobre ellas. 27. Y la casa estaba llena de hombres y mujeres, y todos los principales de los filisteos estaban allí; y en el piso alto había como tres mil hombres y mujeres, que estaban mirando el escarnio de Sansón. 28. Entonces clamó Sansón a Jehová, y dijo: Señor Jehová, acuérdate ahora de mí, y fortaléceme, te ruego, solamente esta vez, oh Dios, para que de una vez tome venganza de los filisteos por mis dos ojos. 29. Asió luego Sansón las dos columnas de en medio, sobre las que descansaba la casa, y echó todo su peso sobre ellas, su mano derecha sobre una y su mano izquierda sobre la otra. 30. Y dijo Sansón: Muera yo con los filisteos. Entonces se inclinó con toda su fuerza, y cayó la casa sobre los principales, y sobre todo el pueblo que estaba en ella. Y los que mató al morir fueron muchos más que los que había matado durante su vida. 31. Y descendieron sus hermanos y toda la casa de su padre, y le tomaron, y le llevaron, y le sepultaron entre Zora y Estaol, en el sepulcro de su padre Manoa. Y él juzgó a Israel veinte años. #Judges 16 Samson and Delilah 1. Samson went to Gaza, and there he saw a prostitute, and he went in to her. 2. The Gazites were told, “Samson has come here.” And they surrounded the place and set an ambush for him all night at the gate of the city. They kept quiet all night, saying, “Let us wait till the light of the morning; then we will kill him.” 3. But Samson lay till midnight, and at midnight he arose and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that is in front of Hebron. 4. After this he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5. And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Seduce him, and see where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to humble him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.” 6. So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you might be bound, that one could subdue you.” 7. Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven fresh bowstrings that have not been dried, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.” 8. Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh bowstrings that had not been dried, and she bound him with them. 9. Now she had men lying in ambush in an inner chamber. And she said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he snapped the bowstrings, as a thread of flax snaps when it touches the fire. So the secret of his strength was not known. 10. Then Delilah said to Samson, “Behold, you have mocked me and told me lies. Please tell me how you might be bound.” 11. And he said to her, “If they bind me with new ropes that have not been used, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.” 12. So Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And the men lying in ambush were in an inner chamber. But he snapped the ropes off his arms like a thread. 13. Then Delilah said to Samson, “Until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me how you might be bound.” And he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head with the web and fasten it tight with the pin, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.” 14. So while he slept, Delilah took the seven locks of his head and wove them into the web. And she made them tight with the pin and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he awoke from his sleep and pulled away the pin, the loom, and the web. 15. And she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.” 16. And when she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death. 17. And he told her all his heart, and said to her, “A razor has never come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If my head is shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak and be like any other man.” 18. When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up again, for he has told me all his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hands. 19. She made him sleep on her knees. And she called a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. 20. And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him. 21. And the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles. And he ground at the mill in the prison. 22. But the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved. The Death of Samson 23. Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said, “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.” 24. And when the people saw him, they praised their god. For they said, “Our god has given our enemy into our hand, the ravager of our country, who has killed many of us.” 25. And when their hearts were merry, they said, “Call Samson, that he may entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison, and he entertained them. They made him stand between the pillars. 26. And Samson said to the young man who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them.” 27. Now the house was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there, and on the roof there were about 3,000 men and women, who looked on while Samson entertained. 28. Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes.” 29. And Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and he leaned his weight against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other. 30. And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life. 31. Then his brothers and all his family came down and took him and brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his father. He had judged Israel twenty years.

제 16 장

삼손이 가사에 가다

1 삼손이 가사에 가서 거기서 한 기생을 보고 그에게로 들어갔더니

2 가사 사람들에게 삼손이 왔다고 알려지매 그들이 곧 그를 에워싸고 밤새도록 성문에 매복하고 밤새도록 조용히 하며 이르기를 새벽이 되거든 그를 죽이리라 하였더라

삼손과 들릴라

삼손이 죽다

26 삼손이 자기 손을 붙든 소년에게 이르되 나에게 이 집을 버틴 기둥을 찾아 그것을 의지하게 하라 하니라

27 그 집에는 남녀가 가득하니 블레셋 모든 방백들도 거기에 있고 지붕에 있는 남녀도 삼천 명 가량이라 다 삼손이 재주 부리는 것을 보더라

28 삼손이 여호와께 부르짖어 이르되 주 여호와여 구하옵나니 나를 생각하옵소서 하나님이여 구하옵나니 이번만 나를 강하게 하사 나의 두 눈을 뺀 블레셋 사람에게 원수를 단번에 갚게 하옵소서 하고

29 삼손이 집을 버틴 두 기둥 가운데 하나는 왼손으로 하나는 오른손으로 껴 의지하고

30 삼손이 이르되 블레셋 사람과 함께 죽기를 원하노라 하고 힘을 다하여 몸을 굽히매 그 집이 곧 무너져 그 안에 있는 모든 방백들과 온 백성에게 덮이니 삼손이 죽을 때에 죽인 자가 살았을 때에 죽인 자보다 더욱 많았더라

31 그의 형제와 아버지의 온 집이 다 내려가서 그의 시체를 가지고 올라가서 소라와 에스다올 사이 그의 아버지 마노아의 장지에 장사하니라 삼손이 이스라엘의 사사로 이십 년 동안 지냈더라

Sansón en Gaza

Fue Sansón a Gaza, y vio allí a una mujer ramera, y se llegó a ella.
Y fue dicho a los de Gaza: Sansón ha venido acá. Y lo rodearon, y acecharon toda aquella noche a la puerta de la ciudad; y estuvieron callados toda aquella noche, diciendo: Hasta la luz de la mañana; entonces lo mataremos.
Mas Sansón durmió hasta la medianoche; y a la medianoche se levantó, y tomando las puertas de la ciudad con sus dos pilares y su cerrojo, se las echó al hombro, y se fue y las subió a la cumbre del monte que está delante de Hebrón.

Sansón y Dalila
Después de esto aconteció que se enamoró de una mujer en el valle de Sorec, la cual se llamaba Dalila.
Y vinieron a ella los príncipes de los filisteos, y le dijeron: Engáñale e infórmate en qué consiste su gran fuerza, y cómo lo podríamos vencer, para que lo atemos y lo dominemos; y cada uno de nosotros te dará mil cien siclos de plata.
Y Dalila dijo a Sansón: Yo te ruego que me declares en qué consiste tu gran fuerza, y cómo podrás ser atado para ser dominado.
Y le respondió Sansón: Si me ataren con siete mimbres verdes que aún no estén enjutos, entonces me debilitaré y seré como cualquiera de los hombres.
Y los príncipes de los filisteos le trajeron siete mimbres verdes que aún no estaban enjutos, y ella le ató con ellos.
Y ella tenía hombres en acecho en el aposento. Entonces ella le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos contra ti! Y él rompió los mimbres, como se rompe una cuerda de estopa cuando toca el fuego; y no se supo el secreto de su fuerza.
Entonces Dalila dijo a Sansón: He aquí tú me has engañado, y me has dicho mentiras; descúbreme, pues, ahora, te ruego, cómo podrás ser atado.
Y él le dijo: Si me ataren fuertemente con cuerdas nuevas que no se hayan usado, yo me debilitaré, y seré como cualquiera de los hombres.
Y Dalila tomó cuerdas nuevas, y le ató con ellas, y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Y los espías estaban en el aposento. Mas él las rompió de sus brazos como un hilo.
Y Dalila dijo a Sansón: Hasta ahora me engañas, y tratas conmigo con mentiras. Descúbreme, pues, ahora, cómo podrás ser atado. Él entonces le dijo: Si tejieres siete guedejas de mi cabeza con la tela y las asegurares con la estaca.
Y ella las aseguró con la estaca, y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Mas despertando él de su sueño, arrancó la estaca del telar con la tela.
Y ella le dijo: ¿Cómo dices: Yo te amo, cuando tu corazón no está conmigo? Ya me has engañado tres veces, y no me has descubierto aún en qué consiste tu gran fuerza.
Y aconteció que, presionándole ella cada día con sus palabras e importunándole, su alma fue reducida a mortal angustia.
Le descubrió, pues, todo su corazón, y le dijo: Nunca a mi cabeza llegó navaja; porque soy nazareo de Dios desde el vientre de mi madre. Si fuere rapado, mi fuerza se apartará de mí, y me debilitaré y seré como todos los hombres.
Viendo Dalila que él le había descubierto todo su corazón, envió a llamar a los principales de los filisteos, diciendo: Venid esta vez, porque él me ha descubierto todo su corazón. Y los principales de los filisteos vinieron a ella, trayendo en su mano el dinero.
Y ella hizo que él se durmiese sobre sus rodillas, y llamó a un hombre, quien le rapó las siete guedejas de su cabeza; y ella comenzó a afligirlo, pues su fuerza se apartó de él.
Y le dijo: ¡Sansón, los filisteos sobre ti! Y luego que despertó él de su sueño, se dijo: Esta vez saldré como las otras y me escaparé. Pero él no sabía que Jehová ya se había apartado de él.
Mas los filisteos le echaron mano, y le sacaron los ojos, y le llevaron a Gaza; y le ataron con cadenas para que moliese en la cárcel.
Y el cabello de su cabeza comenzó a crecer, después que fue rapado.

Muerte de Sansón
Entonces los principales de los filisteos se juntaron para ofrecer sacrificio a Dagón su dios y para alegrarse; y dijeron: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos a Sansón nuestro enemigo.
Y viéndolo el pueblo, alabaron a su dios, diciendo: Nuestro dios entregó en nuestras manos a nuestro enemigo, y al destruidor de nuestra tierra, el cual había dado muerte a muchos de nosotros.
Y aconteció que cuando sintieron alegría en su corazón, dijeron: Llamad a Sansón, para que nos divierta. Y llamaron a Sansón de la cárcel, y sirvió de juguete delante de ellos; y lo pusieron entre las columnas.
Entonces Sansón dijo al joven que le guiaba de la mano: Acércame, y hazme palpar las columnas sobre las que descansa la casa, para que me apoye sobre ellas.
Y la casa estaba llena de hombres y mujeres, y todos los principales de los filisteos estaban allí; y en el piso alto había como tres mil hombres y mujeres, que estaban mirando el escarnio de Sansón.
Entonces clamó Sansón a Jehová, y dijo: Señor Jehová, acuérdate ahora de mí, y fortaléceme, te ruego, solamente esta vez, oh Dios, para que de una vez tome venganza de los filisteos por mis dos ojos.
Asió luego Sansón las dos columnas de en medio, sobre las que descansaba la casa, y echó todo su peso sobre ellas, su mano derecha sobre una y su mano izquierda sobre la otra.
Y dijo Sansón: Muera yo con los filisteos. Entonces se inclinó con toda su fuerza, y cayó la casa sobre los principales, y sobre todo el pueblo que estaba en ella. Y los que mató al morir fueron muchos más que los que había matado durante su vida.
Y descendieron sus hermanos y toda la casa de su padre, y le tomaron, y le llevaron, y le sepultaron entre Zora y Estaol, en el sepulcro de su padre Manoa. Y él juzgó a Israel veinte años.

Samson and Delilah

Samson went to Gaza, and there he saw a prostitute, and he went in to her.
The Gazites were told, “Samson has come here.” And they surrounded the place and set an ambush for him all night at the gate of the city. They kept quiet all night, saying, “Let us wait till the light of the morning; then we will kill him.”
But Samson lay till midnight, and at midnight he arose and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that is in front of Hebron.
After this he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Seduce him, and see where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to humble him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.”
So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you might be bound, that one could subdue you.”
Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven fresh bowstrings that have not been dried, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.”
Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh bowstrings that had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
Now she had men lying in ambush in an inner chamber. And she said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he snapped the bowstrings, as a thread of flax snaps when it touches the fire. So the secret of his strength was not known.
Then Delilah said to Samson, “Behold, you have mocked me and told me lies. Please tell me how you might be bound.”
And he said to her, “If they bind me with new ropes that have not been used, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.”
So Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And the men lying in ambush were in an inner chamber. But he snapped the ropes off his arms like a thread.
Then Delilah said to Samson, “Until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me how you might be bound.” And he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head with the web and fasten it tight with the pin, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.”
So while he slept, Delilah took the seven locks of his head and wove them into the web. And she made them tight with the pin and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he awoke from his sleep and pulled away the pin, the loom, and the web.
And she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and you have not told me where your great strength lies.”
And when she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death.
And he told her all his heart, and said to her, “A razor has never come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If my head is shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak and be like any other man.”
When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up again, for he has told me all his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hands.
She made him sleep on her knees. And she called a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him.
And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And he awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
And the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles. And he ground at the mill in the prison.
But the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.

The Death of Samson
Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said, “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.”
And when the people saw him, they praised their god. For they said, “Our god has given our enemy into our hand, the ravager of our country, who has killed many of us.”
And when their hearts were merry, they said, “Call Samson, that he may entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison, and he entertained them. They made him stand between the pillars.
And Samson said to the young man who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them.”
Now the house was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there, and on the roof there were about 3,000 men and women, who looked on while Samson entertained.
Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes.”
And Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and he leaned his weight against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other.
And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life.
Then his brothers and all his family came down and took him and brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his father. He had judged Israel twenty years.
